Radiohead release new track 08/05/2009
So Radiohead suprises once again with a tribute song to the recently deceased, formally older surviving British soldier of World War I, Harry Patch. The song goes above and beyond expected normal Radiohead theatrics with orchestrated magic that tugs at the heartstrings and could double as a movie soundtrack. My guess is good ol' Jonny Greenwood had a big part in this one, being the truly diabolical instrumental genius behind the band and all. Not to say Thom Yorke isn't a walking god among men as well... That aside, the song's lyrics are taken from a direct quote of Patch's, and go something like this:
'Harry Patch (In Memory Of)' I am the only one that got through the others died where ever they fell it was an ambush they came up from all sides give your leaders each a gun and then let them fight it out themselves i've seen devils coming up from the ground i've seen hell upon this earth the next will be chemical but they will never learn' Buy the song here. It's well worth it. Stream it below for reassurance: CommentsLeave a Reply |
